Associate Position with Civil Rights and Worker's Rights Boutique in Oakland Levy Vinick Burrell Hyams LLP, a leading plaintiff's employment law firm in Oakland, California, seeks an associate to work on litigation matters representing employees in individual and class action cases. The associate will have extensive client contact, and will work on cases involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, breach of contract, and wage and hour violations. The associate may also represent clients who have been subjected to harassment and/or discrimination in schools, housing and other arenas. Our firm brings tenacity, creativity and technology to bear in our cases, so the associate will be involved in intense pre-complaint investigation, conducting focus groups, creating mediation videos, and case planning, in addition to drafting and responding to discovery, legal research and writing. We are committed to mentoring and training our associates. Applicants should have 0-5 years of experience in litigation, preferably in the field of employment law. Successful candidates will be highly motivated, possess excellent writing, analytical and people skills, value a team environment, and will be prepared to work independently and assume significant client responsibilities. Strong computer skills are required, as is a demonstrated commitment to employment law or civil rights work. Bilingual abilities are a plus. Experience using Excel and video editing software is desirable, but not required. Associate will work remotely with eventual return to our offices in Oakland. Salary is dependent upon experience.
