Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Supervisor/Assistant Director
in the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS)
Undergraduate Advising Center, the position provides fundamental
academic advising to prospective and current undergraduate students
and uses the principles of developmental academic advising and a
knowledge of teaching and learning theory to promote academic,
career, and life goals in an effort to support student academic
success, retention, timeliness to degree and intellectual and
personal development. This Lead Advisor position is responsible for
coordinating all communication for a particular CNAS major(s) with
students, faculty, and enrollment staff to address curricular and
enrollment challenges or needs. In addition, this position is the
main point of contact, and generates data reports and
recommendations to faculty, enrollment staff, and the department
chair(s) to assist with short and long-term departmental planning.
The Lead Advisor maintains and updates a specific major(s)
publications, course offerings, four-year plans, degree summaries,
and change of major criteria documents. The position reviews major
changes, discontinuations, and degree confirmations for a
particular major(s) and coordinates workshops and presentations to
undergraduate students in the major and across the general CNAS
population.
This is a hybrid work schedule with in-office and remote work until
further notice.
The full salary range for the Lead Academic Advisor is $54,200.00 -
$93,200.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this
position is up to $70,464.00 annually. We base salary offers on a
variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and
certifications, experience, and other business and organizational
needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a
UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take
over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
