  • Accountability & Grace: Accepting responsibility for one's actions and compassion for people when making mistakes.About the Opportunity:Flourish Agenda seeks a graduate student to serve as temporary part-time, hourly, data analyst (12-15 hours per week, flexible between a 9am-5pm PST work calendar) within its Evaluation, Research and Impact (ERI) department. This position will provide support to various data collection activities that will inform the organization's trainings and program assistance work from February through August 2023. This position reports the Director of Evaluation, Research and Impact. - - -Responsibilities
    • Survey Administration and Analysis
      • Manage survey data collection efforts, which include sending out survey invitations and reminder emails to participants attending Flourish Agenda trainings, workshops, retreats and similar convenings.
      • Utilize online survey software to deploy and track survey responses.
      • Clean, organize and analyze incoming survey responses.
      • Summarize survey responses thematically and write up survey response findings and considerations for future data collection efforts.
      • Qualitative data collection support
        • Assist the ERI Director in conducting in-person and/or virtual interviews and focus groups with participants of Flourish Agenda trainings.
        • Periodically conduct observations of Flourish Agenda trainings and convenings.
        • --- Summaries of data findings and results
          • Assist the ERI Director in writing up memos and other briefs that summarize and highlight key findings, themes and lessons from Flourish Agenda activities.
          • Literature reviews and annotated bibliography summaries
            • Assist ERI staff with reviews of research studies and methodology literature relevant to Flourish Agenda training content. - - -Qualifications
              • Current Graduate-level status (master's, Ph.D. or Ed.D pursuant) in education, social welfare, youth development, or a related field.
              • Strong interest in equity-based research approaches, culturally responsive evaluation methodologies, and a desire to help grow Flourish Agenda's body of ERI work.
              • Strong writing, oral communication, interviewing, and interpersonal skills.
              • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to offer insight and lessons from qualitative and survey data themes.
              • Organized with strong attention to detail (e.g., ability to maintain and track multiple data sources).
              • Demonstrated cultural competence to understand the lived experiences of young people of color and to conduct research in diverse communities.
              • Familiarity with data collection and analysis software, preferably Qualtrics Survey Development software, NVivo Qualitative Data software and EndNote software.
              • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented and inclusive work environment.
              • Ability to primarily work remotely, and to attend periodic in-person convenings at the Flourish Agenda offices in Oakland. Pay scale
