This job is based in San Jose and mainly focus on e-beam inspection
system.
Job Mission
As SEM ELEC architect, your mission is to specify, design, realize
and verify functional design of SEM electronics for our e-beam
inspection and metrology system. This job also serves as the major
interface towards system engineering (SE), SEM EO (electron optics)
and other related functions.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as
defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. - 730,
et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access
such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business
demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are
immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Job Description
Deliver architecture design of SEM ELEC.
Deliver functional specification (EPS), test specification (TPS),
design specification (EDS), qualification document (TAR) and other
documentations for SEM ELEC related functionalities, including
safety, reliability, accessibility, serviceability,
manufacturability and cost control.
Review and negotiate with SE, SEM architects, SEM EO and other
related functions to agree on the requirements towards SEM ELEC and
the interfaces.
Review and work within SEM ELEC to finalize design and
implementation. Ensure designs meet required standard and design
rules.
Provide functional overview, block diagram, connection requirement,
power supply requirement and module list describing SEM ELEC
functionality towards SEM E-Layout, create and release SEM ELEC
BOM.
Lead the integration, function and performance verification and
mitigation of SEM ELEC on system.
Support the integration and related trouble shooting activities of
SEM functions.
Provide input for SEM ELEC and also SEM function roadmap, including
functionality, performance, volume & layout, verification &
diagnosis, etc.
Together with function and module owners, to lead and drive the SEM
ELEC function roadmap.
Support SEM TestRig design, implementation, integration and
verification.
Other related works to enable SEM functionality and
performance.
Education
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 10 years of relevant
work experience or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with
12 years of relevant work experience.
Experience
Minimum 8 years of electronics or electrical hands-on design
experience.
Experience as architect with multi-disciplinary system design is
strongly preferred.
Has experience with general electrical engineering principles and
electrical development methods and processes.
Has knowledge of analog (voltage and current) driver design to meet
certain BW/SR/DR/Ripple/Load requirements. Has knowledge to come up
with trade off design scenarios and choices.
Rich knowledge on highspeed HW design and experience on 10Gbps+
data transferring
Rich experience with Altera or Xilinx FPGA and HDL design &
verification.
Has knowledge on popular industrial protocols (Ethernet / IB / PCIe
/ DDR / JESD204).
Has knowledge on standards for EMC and electrical safety
(International (IEC) standards, US standards (NFPA, UL)) and
preferably SEMI.
Has knowledge on EMI/EMC design principle to minimize coupling
induced disturbance.
Can draw up specifications for components and support component
standardization with component choices.
Knowledge/hands-on experience with software/technical tools (i.e.
Xpedition or Cadence schematic/layout tool, Spice or similar tools,
Visio or similar diagram tool, NX or similar mechanical design
tool, etc.)
System modeling, simulation (Simulink or similar) and verification
tooling (Labview or similar) experience is a plus, including travel
within ASML and customer site.
Rich experience on lab verification and familiar with test
equipment (Oscilloscope / VNA / Power source / Spectrum
analyzer)

Role within the Lab/Cleanroom
Responsibilities
Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing
coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire
duration of shift.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is
required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger,
handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and
stretch.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Can
we be more specific: Must be willing to lift up to X pounds, pull Y
pounds at least once a day and spend the majority of time (greater
than 90% less break time) on the floor working on tool sets,
walking three to five miles a day, and/or standing/sitting for nine
hours.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and
ability to adjust focus.
Can work under deadlines.
The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate
to high noise level.
Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule -
twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a
week.
This must include references to day and night shifts for

The current base annual salary range for this role is
currently:
$174,375-290,625
Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment
with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews
and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each
candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills,
relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the
candidate and pay relative to other team members.
